2018
Once again, Twillingate – New World Island Dinner Theatre and Waterside Fish Market, are pleased to announce that the 2018 Christmas Hamper fundraiser was a roaring success. Our goal this past year was to raise $50,000 through our annual 50/50 draw but a delay in ticket printing meant that we were several weeks late in receiving the tickets. Despite this obstacle, we were able to raise $38,716 through ticket sales and another $3,356 in raw donations. During the closing night, we drew the winning ticket and David Anthony of Grand Falls-Windsor held the winning ticket. Later in the fall, David and his wife Melinda came by to collect a cheque for $19,358.

Along with the nearly $23,000 raised through the theatre and fish market, and donations from private individuals and the business community, we were able to raise nearly $36,000 which filled 134 Christmas Hampers. Each hamper included more than $300 in grocery items. In December, staff and other volunteers from the community, gathered to fill and deliver hampers to families throughout the region. It was an amazing week and we want to thank everyone who helped to make this year’s hamper project such a wonderful success.
